Needles to say, once I realized that you can just spam dash and it has no cooldown or mana or anything to waste, I was using that almost exclusively to move around due to how slow normal movement is. The tutorials thought me everything else but I don't recall a tutorial mentioning a dash, when I reached the area where you had to dash across platforms I only figured out what to do by mashing buttons on my controller out of frustration until I discovered the dash. Third was that I got stuck rather early in the game, because I had no idea that I had a dash. One thing that surprised me was that enabling HDR even though I don't have a HDR monitor did display more colors. It even has HDR support (wish I had a HDR monitor). Rarely do I see a game with retro-style pixel graphics so detailed and so colorfully vibrant. Second was how beautiful the visuals were. (The slow movement speed was especially painful during the boss's first phase) I honestly thought my game was not running right at first because I wasn't expecting him to move that slow. It was annoying to try to get anywhere, and especially if I had to backtrack. Took several tries to beat the first phase (Mostly because I kept dying randomly, wasn't sure if that was a bug or something I wasn't noticing) and after I "killed" him and saw he had a second phase, and how he was taking almost no damage other than with my fire attacks, I gave up after he killed me.įirst thing that struck me when I started the demo was how slow the wizard moves. The entire rest of the game up until that point was actually very easy, but the boss was incredibly harder. I got as far as (what I assume is) the boss of the demo, gave up on the second phase. I mentioned this in the survey but I guess I should bring it up here too.
